Advanced Preceptorship: Three Crucial Days for the Future of Pulmonary Fibrosis
By Prof. Luca Richeldi
Dear colleagues and participants,
I am pleased to open the event “ADVANCED PRECEPTORSHIP On Pulmonary Fibrosis,” an intensive and specialized course to be held in Rome, at the Gemelli Training Center of the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Hospital Foundation, from November 3 to 5, 2025.
This Preceptorship represents a unique opportunity to explore every aspect of the management of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD), a field that requires increasingly layered and multidisciplinary knowledge.
The program opens on Monday, November 3, with my welcome speech and introduction, which will kick off three days of intense work. Together, we will present the team and the objectives of the course, which are essential for maximizing learning. The first day also includes an important site visit to the Outpatient Fibrosis Clinic and the Clinical Trial Unit of CEMAR/UOS Pulmonary Fibrosis, allowing participants to experience the clinical and research approach firsthand.
My main focus will be on Wednesday, November 5, a crucial day entirely dedicated to therapies. I will address the topic “The therapies,” an overview of established therapeutic strategies. Following this, we will look beyond the current horizon with the presentation “Outlook of future drugs.” We will discuss promising drug pipelines and how research is shaping tomorrow's treatments to offer new hope to our patients.
This course is structured to offer a 360-degree view, including essential sessions on diagnostic imaging with Prof. Larici, the invasive approach (biopsy and DLTB) with Prof. Trisolini, and the integration of hot topics such as Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis and the role of Artificial Intelligence.
I hope that this advanced Preceptorship will provide all participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to make a difference in the lives of patients with pulmonary fibrosis.
I look forward to seeing you in Rome.
